Orange Tip Butterfly

What a difference a week makes!!

My first butterfly shot of the year and my first every sighting of an Orange Tip Butterfly. I had nearly finished up for the morning and was walking back to the car when I noticed this butterfly warming itself in the early morning sun perched on the end of what I think was the stem of cowslip.

Signs Of Spring

Pasque Flowers are a sure sign that Spring has finally arrived.

I went Pasque hunting and was happy to find some. Here are some of the best shots.

Black and White is a strange take, when it comes to Macro photography.

This is one from of my on going project, called Macro Monochrome.

The Small Blue Butterfly is one of Europe’s smallest butterflies,

despite its common name it’s not particularly blue!

The male has some bluish suffusion at the base of its upperwings but is mostly dark brown like the female. The undersides are a silvery grey with small black dots. The male has a bluish tint at the base of its wings similar to the upperside.
