Common Blue Butterflies
The Common Blue Butterflies have once again returned to the meadows surrounding Würzburg,
Here are the results of my first outing photographing them this season .
A couple classically posed
A male singled out
I was particularly pleased to get a couple of images of them with their wings open.
The Male Common Blue with its striking blue wings
and the not so striking but still very beautiful Female.
Orange Tip Butterfly
What a difference a week makes!!
My first butterfly shot of the year and my first every sighting of an Orange Tip Butterfly. I had nearly finished up for the morning and was walking back to the car when I noticed this butterfly warming itself in the early morning sun perched on the end of what I think was the stem of cowslip.
